On Tuesday, March 2, 2021, the official launch of the DIGITAQ project took place as part of the Erasmus+ KA02 program to establish digital capabilities for quality assurance in higher education. The European Union funds this project with an estimated value of 905,000 euros, aiming to enhance the universities' capacities in digitizing quality in management, training, research, student life, governance, structures, and relations with the socio-economic sector and international cooperation. Our university was represented by its director, Professor Ahmed Boutarfaia, and Mr. Mubarak Bahri, the responsible for the Quality Assurance Cell.

This meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as directors, deputy directors, and professors from Algerian universities. Representatives from European universities also participated through remote conferencing technology.

During the meeting, the broad outlines of the program and how the project operates were discussed. The project is a partnership between the University of Oran for Science and Technology "Mohamed Boudiaf," the University of Oum El Bouaghi, the University of Ouargla, the University of Biskra, the University of Setif 2, the University of Bejaia, the University of Mustapha Stambouli in Mascara, the University of Guelma, the University of Algiers 1, and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on one side. On the other side, there are five European institutions: Lyon 2 University, Liege University in Belgium, Lisbon University in Portugal, the Union of Mediterranean Universities (INU-MED) in Italy, and the French Quality Movement - Ron-Alp France.

The second day of the meeting witnessed the launch of the DIGITAQ project and continued discussions on the action plan of the members within the project framework by the University of Oran for Science and Technology Mohamed Boudiaf, as the coordinating member. The university presented its action plan in terms of project administration, finance, and supervision.

The University of Biskra participated through the University Directorate for External Relations, Cooperation, Communication, and Scientific Events in the fourth edition of Erasmus Days online from October 15 to 17, 2020. The event was organized by the European Union Committee in collaboration with partner countries.

These days provided a unique opportunity for the University of Biskra to showcase its experience in the Erasmus program and enhance the university's visibility on a global scale. The university's director, Professor Ahmed Boutarfaia, inaugurated the event with a speech highlighting Biskra University's efforts to improve its standards and strengthen its external relations through cooperation and exchange programs. These initiatives aim to enhance the university's national and international standing by fostering partnerships with national and international entities for industrial and economic development, creating job opportunities for graduates, and encouraging faculty members' participation in curriculum and pedagogical development projects.

On the second day of the event, Mr. Mubarak Bahri, the Quality Assurance Cell Manager at the university, discussed the expected results of the DIGITAQ project, focusing on building digital capabilities in quality cells within Algerian higher education institutions. The project is part of the capacity-building projects in higher education KA02 + Erasmus, led by the University of Oran for Science and Technology.

The Erasmus Days concluded on the morning of Saturday, October 17, 2020.
